I recommend updating your phone using the phone updater. Smaller file and faster.
How?
Backup your phone first by menu-app-file manager-backup-option-backup now(will take 5-10mins)
Then, go back to home screen. Click the dial pad n type *#0000# to see your current firmware then click option check for updates. Follow the instruction there. I have successfully downloaded(15MB) and updated my phone in about 15mins.
The Good News
1. 1.. Navigating around map with nokia maps is smoother than previous version
2. 2. Moving around menu is faster but still noticeable abit lag especially when theme effects are on.
3. 3. Overall more responsive.
4. 4. Screen auto rotation is faster.
5. 5. Sound from loudspeaker is slightly louder
6. 6. Bigger scroll bar for easier scrolling.
7. 7. Bigger keypad and qwerty key (just slightly)
8. 8. Now with app-update
9. 9. Some changes in icon and shapes (looks better)
10. 10. Front camera can be used.
11. 11. Geotagging added
12. 12. Scrolling between songs in music player is smoother
13 13. Home screen can be customized ( search, music, radio , calendar can be disabled)
14. 14. Basically nothing changes in the music player, the bass in the setting have changed to loudness.
15. 15. Touch sensitivity increased slightly.
16. 16. Opening videos with realplayer is slightly faster(depends on size, videos recorded with the phone itself is fairly quick)
17. 17. Videos sounds better with added bass.
18. 18. Virtual keypad added
19. 19. Camera added sequences mode( takes up to 18 pic)
20. 20. Video mode added low light mode for better performance indoor( at a slower frame rate but reduced noise compared to auto mode)
21. 21. Slight improvement in handwriting method
The Bad news
1. 1 . Camera quality is almost the same.
2. 2 .Crackling sound when going to next song is still here.
3. 3. Gallery is as slow as usual
